Biography

Rob Phillips is a certified apologetics instructor with more than 20 years of experience in preaching, teaching, and training Christians to “earnestly contend for the faith … once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).

He recently relocated to Milwaukee, Wis., from Nashville, Tenn., where he served as an adult Bible study leader at Brentwood (Tenn.) Baptist Church and worked with the North American Mission Board and the Tennessee Baptist Convention to speak in churches and lead training events in apologetics – a reasoned defense of the Christian faith – on topics such as world religions and cults.

Phillips has extensive corporate communications and bivocational pastoral experience. He worked more than 20 years in public and media relations for Phillips Petroleum Company and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., while at the same time serving for 14 years as associate pastor of Bartlesville (Okla.) Southern Baptist Church and providing pulpit supply throughout northeast Oklahoma, southeast Kansas and northwest Arkansas. He also served from 2002-2010 as director of communications for LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville, Tenn.

KingdomIn 2009, CrossBooks Publishing released a new book by Phillips, The Kingdom According to Jesus: A Study of Jesus’ Parables on the Kingdom of Heaven.

Phillips also has participated in mission projects in Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Brazil, Chile, the Philippines and Malaysia.
